STEPN (GMT) Crypto Exchange

STEPN is a Web3 lifestyle app that has a move-to-earn principal built into it. It was introduced in August 2021 by Jerry Huang and Yawn Rong and is the only mobile game to have won The Solana Ignition Hackathon Gaming Track. STEPN is an app that allows its users to earn assets by walking or running.

To start playing all you need to do is purchase one of the NFT sneakers offered by STEPN in its in-app marketplace. Each sneaker represents a different level of physical activity, starting with a “walker” and ending with a “trainer”. Each sneaker has multiple characteristics, including efficiency, luck, and comfort, some of which can be improved by acquiring in-app gems. Once you have your sneaker you can start using the app which tracks your speed, and your route by using GPS and even has an anti-cheating device. While running or even walking you earn in-app currency and rewards which you can then use to level up your sneaker collection. The STEPN ecosystem has two tokens, GST (Green Satoshi Token) and GMT (Green Metaverse Token), GST being an in-app currency and GMT a Solana-based governance token. In June 2022, STEPN introduced new mechanics into its system after receiving some feedback from its users. The new mechanics include an enhanced anti-cheating method and improved minting costs, keeping the GST costs constant.
